Introducing Kensington & Sloane.
Kia Ora!
I’m Jess. A Kiwi girl who swapped the beaches of Auckland for the bustle (and drizzle) of London. I’m a Project Manager in real estate by trade, but a storyteller at heart — which is how this blog came to life. What started as a breakup coping mechanism somewhere back in 2017 has slowly turned into a running diary of my life abroad: the wins, the wobbles, and everything in between.
I grew up in a very normal New Zealand way — two sisters, a Mum who swore by SPF and Sunday roasts, and a Dad who still cries every time we say goodbye at the airport. London was meant to be a short-term adventure with my then-boyfriend; instead, it became home. Since then, I’ve built a career, a community, and a collection of stories that feel too good (or too ridiculous) not to share.
This space — Kensington & Sloane — is where I capture it all: the chaos of project life, the ritual of my morning coffee, my musings on fashion, skincare, friendship, and the quiet moments that remind me who I am. Expect a mix of Kiwi humour, London charm, and the kind of honesty that comes after one too many glasses of sauv blanc.
I’m still figuring things out — love, career, what shampoo actually gives volume — but I like to think that’s the fun part. If you’ve ever found yourself rebuilding, starting over, or just trying to find the balance between ambition and self-care, then you’ll probably feel at home here too.
Thanks for being here — truly. Here’s to fresh starts, good stories, and the perfect oat flat white.
