A Slightly Chaotic Catch-Up (With Photos, Obviously)

Ok — so maybe not a good or properly regular update, but there are plenty of photos from trips, which I feel like counts for something.

Sorry not sorry, Mum.

The last few months have basically been a blur of little trips, weekend missions, and me pretending I’m far more outdoorsy, cultured, and coordinated than I actually am.

So, in no particular order, here’s what I’ve been up to:

Richmond Park, Soft Lighting & Questionable Modelling

A fairly calming Sunday afternoon out to Richmond Park, where I attempted to work on both my photography and my moody modelling skills.

Josh is also working on his photography skills — primarily to compensate for my non-existent modelling ability. A true partnership.

There’s something about Richmond that makes you feel like you’ve got your life together for a few hours. Fresh air, deer casually wandering around like they pay rent, and me trying to look candid while very much not being candid.

Cambridge: Cute Streets & Heated Debates

A cheeky wee trip up to Cambridge for a nosey around the University and a general wander through town.

Very picturesque. Very "I could totally study here" energy, despite absolutely not studying here.

Also included a lively and highly constructive debate with Josh about my driving abilities on English motorways — or supposed lack thereof — whilst I was driving. Ideal timing.

Still made it there alive, so I consider that a win.

Barcelona: Sun, Seafood & Selective Sightseeing

My first trip to Barcelona — and yes, I didn’t go into the Sagrada Familia because… crowds.

No regrets.

We did, however, take in some unreal views from Park Güell, wandered along the harbour, and spent a significant amount of time in seafood and wine bars pretending we were far more sophisticated than we are.

Honestly, the food alone is enough reason to go back.

Mosel Valley: Unexpected Wine Girl Era

A trip to the Mosel Valley in Germany for wine tasting — which was, quite frankly, divine.

Stunning scenery, proper fairytale village vibes, and wine that completely changed my opinion on German wine.

I don’t think I’d ever really associated Germany with wine before, but I do now — and there is absolutely a place for it in my future (currently imaginary) household wine cellar.

Afternoon Tea: Adulting Achieved

An afternoon tea at Liz’s place, courtesy of my Kiwi passport.

Love her — she’s actually such a ledge, especially at her age.

Josh and I got dressed up and did some proper adulting for an afternoon — cucumber sandwiches, tea, polite conversation, and trying not to look like we’d wandered in by accident.

We didn’t completely embarrass ourselves, so I’m calling it a success.

Tag Rugby Tournament: Peak Kiwi Behaviour

A highly active Saturday playing in a tag rugby tournament out in Richmond.

Firstly — why does New Zealand not have these kinds of social sports festivals? We absolutely should.

There’s everything here: tag rugby, netball, hockey — all happening at once, all very social, slightly competitive, and fuelled by post-game drinks.

Absolutely loved it.

And yes — confirming that Kiwis do, in fact, have innate rugby ability that is pre-ordained from birth.

I scored three tries.

Not to brag, but also… to brag.

Next Time (Allegedly)

Next update will be a proper one — with structure, coherence, and maybe even a timeline.

No promises, but the intention is there.

Gem x
